Interested in helping document underwater shipwrecks with WUAA? Consider joining us for  hands-on training.

 

Instructor Russel Leitz has been documenting shipwrecks for over 20 years, and teaching documentation techniques for the last 10 years for various groups including for NAS Certification, at Ghost Ships, for WUAA and the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Maritime Preservation and Archaeology Program, and more.

 

Class covers: 

  1. Identification of basic parts of a wreck

  2. Drawing to scale on a model shipwreck and placing the drawing on a site plan

  3. Learning how to gather off-set and trilateration information on scattered wreckage and placing on the site plan

  4. Other necessary information to gather about the wreckage

  5. How to develop your site plan from start to finish.

 

You will receive a booklet which covers class contents. 

The class will go without a formal lunch break, but there is time to eat a bag lunch if you’d like to bring one.
