WUAA Participates in Many Events Throughout Each Year

Ghost Ships Festival

2011 gsf booth www.ghostships.org Ghost Ships Festival (March) - Divers and maritime history enthusiasts gather for a weekend of fascinating presentations on numerous topics within the realm of Great Lakes history and shipwreck diving. Various hands-on workshops are also conducted. An exhibitor hall hosts many Great Lakes entities, including dive shops, dive charters, and historical organizations.  WUAA holds a booth yearly at this exciting event, in which visitors can learn about the recent projects and trainings we have held, as well as those that are upcoming.

Documentation/Surveying Workshop

2011 gsf workshop 1 Workshops will provide a basic understanding of how an underwater site is surveyed, mapped and interpreted using manual methods. The class will cover survey objectives and the use of trilateration, offsets and sketches to generate preliminary maps of underwater sites.

Archeology/Maritime History Conference

Wisconsin Underwater Archeology and Maritime History Annual Conference (October) - This event will bring together Great Lakes archeologists, maritime historians, divers and nautical enthusiasts, for a day of fascinating talks on maritime history and underwater archeology in Wisconsin waters. A WUAA business meeting is also held at the beginning of the conference.

Action Planning Meetings

These meetings are held quarterly and discuss old and new projects and business among the board members.
